Installing Game Packs
- First select a game pack and download it from the main page.
- Unpack the zip archive and follow the ReadMe.txt included with the pack or just follow the simple general guide below.
General Instructions
This generally goes for installing any game pack.
First unpack the run UCV if it isn't already. The follow these directions:
- Go to the File menu and select "Add/Remove Game System Data..."
- From the popup window, click the Add Game System button.
- From the Open window, navigate to the xml file included with the pack and select it.
The game system is now loaded. Next you will want to import a style sheet. These are used to display your character. Some game packs may have more than one; you can load them all or just the ones you want, however you wish. Even if you choose not to use a style sheet, you always have the option of viewing your entry using the builtk-in generic style sheets.
The following illustrates how to import style sheets.
- Go to the File menu and select "Add/Remove Stylesheet..."
- From the popup window, click the Add Style Sheet button.
- From the Open window, select the .xsl file included with the game pack.
- From the Select Game System popup menu, select the game system you imported in the above steps.
- Enter a name for this style sheet. You can call it whatever you want, but you should use a different name for all your style sheets. I recommend using the file name of the style sheet or incorporating the name of the game system to which it belongs.
To use the stylesheets, first enter a new character using the game system you just imported. Then bring up the Character Sheet window (quick key is cmd-4 for Mac, ctrl-4 for Windows). Click the Styles icon to see a menu of style sheets. Choose whichever one you want to use. You can click the Journals icon if you want to also display your journals.
